Camerado Suite on WGN Radio
I was honored to be on WGN radio with my friend Rick Kogan. The interview included Tim Fawkes, the orchestra director at Glenbard East High School as well as two students from the orchestra and choir who will be performing on May 11. The orchestra has 100 musicians and the choir has 60 singers. The Camerado Suite is my work written for banjo, orchestra and choir. The text is from Walt Whitman, the final stanza of “Song of the Open Road:” Camerado, I give you my hand. I give you my self. I give you my love, more precious than money. Will you give me yourself? Will you come travel with me? Shall we stick by each other as long as we live.
